FIAS co-operates with Museum Giersch
Joint exhibition planned
The new director of the Giersch Museum at Goethe University, Ina Neddermeyer, suggested joint activities with FIAS. After initial contacts, the FIAS administrative team visited the museum on Schaumainkai.
As part of the Museumsuferfest on 23-25 August 2024, FIAS will present itself with an exhibition in the rooms of the Giersch Museum at Goethe University. Exciting exhibits relating to the research topics at FIAS are planned to mark the 20th anniversary.
The administrative team has now visited the premises and examined the feasibility of the ideas on site. The director of the museum, Ina Neddermeyer, gave a tour of the former residential building, which is currently showing a wonderful exhibition on the artist Louise Rösler. She lived and worked in Berlin, Paris and Königstein im Taunus in the 20th century. She created colourful paintings, collages from candy wrappers and packaging, colour and felt-tip pen works, watercolours and pastels as well as a number of prints and sculptures.
The guided tour of the Giersch Museum and the rooms of the villa fuelled anticipation for the joint exhibition in August. Both the museum and FIAS are sponsored by the Giersch couple.
