Frankfurt scientist receives prestigious award

Prof. Dr. Hannah Petersen was honoured in Venice

FIAS Fellow Hannah Petersen has been awarded the Zimanyi Medal of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The award recognizes her work in the field of relativistic heavy ion collisions. The theoretical physicist has been a Fellow at FIAS since 2013, heads a Helmholtz junior research group at the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research and teaches as a professor at Goethe University in Frankfurt.

Hannah Petersen accepted the award at the "Quark Matter" conference in Venice, where she also presented the latest results of her research group. With over 800 participants, the "Quark Matter" conference is the largest event in this field. Hannah Petersen is also the youngest member of the International Advisory Board of this conference.
