Once a year, the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) select five young scientists for the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Prize.
Among this year's award winners is FIAS Fellow Prof. Dr. Hannah Petersen (Photo: U. Dettmar). The 32-year-old physicist is awarded the prize for her work on the theoretical description of "little Bang". The prizewinners will receive the award, which is endowed with 20,000 euros each, on 18 May in Berlin.
