Carlo Giersch, long-time supporter and sponsor of FIAS, visited FIAS on July 16 together with the Hessian Minister of Science and Research, Timon Gremmels.

After an overview by former FIAS Director Volker Lindenstruth, FIAS Fellow Sebastian Thallmair and Senior Fellow Roberto Covino gave insights into their research. Doctoral students and postdocs then presented their areas of specialization. For example, they fascinated Gremmels with VR glasses that make protein designs visible and presented posters, videos, and results from the entire spectrum of FIAS, from life sciences to AI and computer technology and theoretical physics. Both visitors were very impressed and interested in the research situation and perspectives of the young scientists.
