STAR pre-QM 2025 Meeting kicks off at FIAS
International physicists prepare in Frankfurt for the upcoming Quark Matter 2025
From April 2 to 5, 2025, the STAR collaboration gathers at the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS) for a preparatory meeting with around 50 participants. The event sets the stage for the prestigious Quark Matter 2025 conference, taking place the following week at Goethe University.
The STAR collaboration is an international network of scientists conducting research at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Their goal is to explore the properties of the strong interaction and the quark-gluon plasma – a state of matter that existed just after the Big Bang.
At the STAR pre-QM 2025 meeting, participants present recent research findings, discuss new approaches, and plan future experiments. The event also serves to coordinate joint contributions for Quark Matter 2025, one of the leading international conferences in the field of heavy-ion physics.
The meeting is organized by FIAS Fellow Prof. Ivan Kisel and his research group.
